http://momentskis.com/

I love the design of moment skis website. Great colors, great type, photos, love it all!
Heres a little bit about Moment:

In the Chinese zodiac, 2010 was the Year of the Tiger. At Moment, it felt like we adopted a full-grown one. Over the past twelve months, we’ve moved into a new factory space, doubled production, and almost tripled our staff. We’ve taken pole production to Italy, tested and approved new materials across the board, and implemented new manufacturing processes, all while designing six new adult skis, a junior ski, and a whole line of outerwear with improved fabrics and construction. Needless to say, we’re a bit weary…but we’re also stoked.

While Moment is growing, it’s the constants that make us happy. We still design with the future of skiing in mind. We still use 95% domestically sourced ingredients and FSC-certified wood cores. We still party out of bounds. And we still make every single pair by hand, right here in Reno. While you might see more square tips around than you did a year ago, rest assured: every Moment customer has been pre-screened for radness, just like you. And just like you, we’re still in it for the stoke, not the scrilla. The big-hair babes, gold watches and movie deals? That’s just for decoration.

LOST TYPE

http://losttype.com/

The Lost Type Co-Op is a Pay-What-You-Want Type foundry, the first of its kind.

Founded by Riley Cran and Tyler Galpin, originally in a whirlwind 24 hour adventure to distribute a single typeface, Lost Type has blossomed into a full fledged foundry, distributing fonts from designers all over the world, with its unique model.

Users have the opportunity to pay whatever they like for a font, you can even type in '$0' for a free download.

100% of funds from these sales go directly to the designers of the fonts, respectively.

Lost Type takes no cut of sales, and holds no funds.

UNDERWARE

For more than ten years the pan-European design collective Underware has been creating versatile fonts, surfing the waves, conducting type workshops, running the radio station Typeradio, throwing cannon balls, experimenting with blood, practicing kamikaze chess; but mostly, they gave flowers for their mothers and turned them into a cover girl. Which resulted in an everlasting smile on their faces. The company was founded in 1999 by Akiem Helmling, Bas Jacobs and Sami Kortemäki. They are based in Den Haag, Helsinki and Amsterdam.

Is Not Magazine
Is Not Magazine is published bi-monthly (more or less) as a 2m x 1.5m bill poster and pasted to the streets, laneways, cafés and bars of Melbourne, Australia since April 2005. Each issue features fiction and non-fiction articles, reviews, pictures, diagrams and a story that ends in another location. There are two themes per issue, as well as stories that readers can store on their camera phones. Is Not Magazine publishes writers and artists from all over the world and only uses Underware typefaces

This has nothing to do with websites or design but this costume is SO FREAK CUTE!!
This sushi costume was featured on THE MARTHA STEWART show on Friday October 14th.

This Halloween costume looks delicious! Since I craved sushi all through my pregnancy, it's only fitting that my little one be a piece of Nigiri for Halloween. ***This costume comes with the sushi grass, wasabi and ginger accessories UNATTACHED. I am happy to attach accessories to the onesie, just ask!***

This costume can be customized to your favorite sushi. Prefer salmon? No problem. Please not salmon, tuna or shrimp at checkout!

Oh Beautiful Beer Website

This website is so clean and beautiful, I love its simplicity. It really brings the focus to whats important.

Im making a beer catalog in one of my other classes and came across this awesome website. They post on good beer branding, packaging, and logos. Uinta just came out with a re-branding of their 4 plus line which is now the Uinta Organic Line and a small re-branding of their Uinta line too. I love the texture of the new paper and the embossed compass on the bottle. They made simple changes with typefaces and look but it brought the brand up to a new level. Love it!

font of the week

Inspired in the sweet letters of calligraphy and typography masters of our past; such as Didot, Bodoni and the incredible Herb Lubalin, its aim was to incorporate the decorative accolades from blackletter and copperplate styles of calligraphy into a Modern Roman typeface.

Reina reflects sovereignty due to the enveloping atmosphere and the sensation of greatness that can be felt when using it. It has an unique way of standing over paper and screen, being its swashes responsible of an extreme elegance.

Similar to what Lian did in his last font Breathe, Reina was designed to be playful yet formal: While none of its alternates are activated it can be useful for short to medium length texts; and when the user chooses to make use of its open-type decorative glyphs, it can be useful for headlines with dazzling results.

TECHNICAL
Reina is a family with many members. In order to achieve better results when printing, Lian took his time to design the necessary styles: Reina 72 Pro, prepared for display sizes; Reina 36 Pro, for medium sizes; and Reina 12 Pro, the best for text or decorative words in small size.
Each of these members have variants inside, which are open-type programmed: The user decides which glyph to alternate, equalizing the amount of decoration wanted.

Reina Engraved Pro has the same features than the variants mentioned above.

The family also contains variants which were made exclusively for decoration. These are: Reina Words, a set of the most common words used in english, german, italian, french and spanish; Reina Capitals, which consists in a big set of ornamented capitals; and Reina Fleurons, those little friends which always help to embellish our work by combining them in the way the we want to.
